Sing and Be Joyful

I was asked to compose a choir number for our upcoming Stake Conference. Hence the SATB anthem Sing and Be Joyful was born. We happened to have a visiting authority at the conference, Elder Spencer J. Condie, who absolutely raved about the anthem. He even requested a copy of the music which he passed on to the Tabernacle Choir president at the time, Michael Moody. I did receive a nice letter from Michael Moody acknowledging the song, but nothing ever came of it on that platform. However, the anthem did receive an Award of Merit in the 1993 Church Music Contest.
