About the Song
Our Stake was preparing for a “Moroni’s Quest” experience for our Young Men and Young Women. The Stake leaders asked me if I could write a song that the youth could learn and memorize to sing as they walked from one scene to the next. I wanted the song to carry a truthful message, but still be fun to sing.
Thankfully, my long-time friend and I were conducting a Stake Youth Choir every Sunday night. It provided a good opportunity for the youth of the Stake to learn how to sing in parts and strengthen their faith and testimonies. It was a tradition that she and I provided, seasonally, for over 20 years. We added Book of Mormon Prophets in SATB to our repertoire, and the youth learned and sang the song with vigor.
I later arranged Book of Mormon Prophets as a Children’s Song. It is an easy, fun way to help children remember many of the prominent figures in the Book of Mormon.
